The Qur'an is the literal word of Allah, revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ through the Angel Jibreel over a period of 23 years. It was revealed in Arabic and has been preserved letter-by-letter since its revelation.
Unlike previous scriptures, the Qur'an has been preserved in its original form. Millions of Muslims have memorized it completely (called Huffaz), and the text today is identical to what was revealed 1400 years ago.
