Muhammad ﷺ was born in Makkah in 570 CE. He was known as 'Al-Amin' (The Trustworthy) even before prophethood. At age 40, he received the first revelation from Allah through the Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) in the Cave of Hira.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ came to confirm the message of all previous prophets: to worship Allah alone without partners. He is the final prophet, and his message is for all of humanity, not just one nation or time.
The Prophet ﷺ was known for his exceptional character - his kindness, mercy, honesty, and patience. The Qur'an describes him as 'a mercy to the worlds' (21:107). His wife Aisha described his character as 'the Qur'an' - meaning he embodied its teachings.
"And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds"
"There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent example"
